UEFA Champions League: Liverpool came from behind to secure a victory over rebellious Villarreal.

It was a dramatic night in Spain when Liverpool visited Villarreal as the Yellow Submarine shocked the world-leading in the first half by 2-0, leveling up the aggregate. Dia Boulaye and Francis Coquelin were the men on target for Villarreal.

Knowing that winning this encounter would secure them their first UCL final, Unai Emery horrendously changed his high tempo game and decided to sit back for defensive football, knowing this, Liverpool introduced Luiz Diaz and Jordan Henderson in the second half.

Liverpool had the game their way during the second half as Fabinho netted to reduce the goal deficit, Luiz Diaz and Mane scored Liverpool’s winning goals that edged them over resilient Villarreal. Liverpool has now made three appearances in the UCL final three times in their last five seasons, and Jürgen Klopp has played 5 European finals in his career as a manager.

Real Madrid will take on Manchester City tonight and the winner of the encounter by aggregate will play the Champions League final against Liverpool in Paris, France on the 28th of May.
