Manchester United and Juventus who once ruled their respective league had faced challenges in their previous seasons. Both clubs have been a phenomenon this season in their respective leagues.
Last night the Old Ladies of Turin beat Cremenose to a narrow 1-0 away from home, making them unbeaten in their last seven games and have not conceded a goal in those games. Since they last lost to AC Milan in October last year, Juventus has maintained an unbeaten streak in the league.
On Tuesday, Manchester United recorded their seventh home victory against Bournemouth in the Premier League in which Erik ten Hag said, “Old Trafford can become a fortress”. Since Manchester United last lost in the Premier League to Aston Villa in November they have remained unbeaten, winning four league games on the bounce.
Manchester United last won the title in 2013 during Sir Alex’s last season with the Red Devils, and Mourinho was the last manager to win a major trophy for the club in 2017.
Juventus, who won the league title 8 times at a stretch from 2011-12 to 2019-20 season, has fallen off glory after these years of reign in the Serie A.
Looking at the position of both clubs on the league table in their respective leagues, there could be a season of transformation for them.
