Super Eagles of Nigeria wins over Guinea Bissau to Keep 100% winning record in the Qualify stages of the AFCON2021

Nigeria played their last game of group D against Guinea Bissau in the ongoing 2021 AFCON. Although the Super Eagles was among the first three nations to have qualified for the round of 16 knockout stages winning two from two.

Coach Austin Equaveon made 8 changes to the regular starting line that played against Egypt and Sudan.

Sadiq Umar, Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Nwakali, Chidera Ejuke, Jemilu Collins, Tyrone Ebuehi, and Samy Ajayi all start for the Super Eagles.

Replacing Taiwo Awoniyi, Samuel Chukweze, Simon Moses, Ola Aina, Saidu Zanusi, Joel Aribo, Keneth Omeruo

Match Analysis:

The game begins in a little note with both sides taking cautions. No goal was registered in the first half between Nigeria and Guinea Bissau. There were lot of changes the Super Eagles had missed and failed to convert. Sadiq Umar the Almeria striker had most of those opportunities.

Egypt plays Sudan in a different venue registered their second goal of the tournament.

35 minutes into the game Mohammed Abdelmonem scored and his goal fires the Pharaohs to a 4 points on group C, three points behind Nigeria.

45′ Returning into the second have spirited Super Eagles created the chances for themselves.

54′ At 54th minutes into the game Sadiq Umar put one past the Guinea Bissau. Sadir Umar slide it in from Kelechi Iheanacho’s assists.

57′ Nigeria opted for a double change, Salvia Prague striker Peter Olayinka made his debut subbing Sadiq Umar, and Simon Moses the Nante top assist player replaced Chidera Ejuke.

79′ Captain Teoost Ekong led by example scoring for his Nation to make it 2-0 in favor of Nigeria.

81′ Another double change was observed by the Super Eagles. Frank Onyeka, the Brentford man whose team is playing as well tonight against Manchester United came in for Kelechi Nwakali, Olisah Ndah the former Akwa United player, who now plays for Orlando Pirates in South Africa made his debut subbing Tyrone Ebuehi

84′ Henry Onyekuru made his first appearance as well replacing Kelechi Iheanacho.

Nigeria and Egypt from Group D will now join, Cameroon and Burkina Faso from Group A, Senegal and Guinea in Group B, Morocco and Gabon in Group C to advance into the round of 16 knock-out stage.
