English Premier League match day one began yesterday with Crystal Palace hosting Arsenal. Today two Super Eagles players debuted for their club but suffered defeat tonight.
Joe Aribo’s debut for his new club Southampton when they clashed with Tottenham. Tottenham knocked the saint to a 4-1 victory. Despite Ward Prowse scoring to put them ahead in the 12th minute, Tottenham still came from behind to win. Joe Aribo played 90 minutes and had a couple of good attempts during the game.
Taiwo Awoniyi started in the Nottingham Forest team sheet squad against Newcastle United. Forest was defeated to a 2-0 scoreline at St. James Park. Awoniyi was replaced at the 62nd minute by Sam Sturridge.
Alex Iwobi was involved in Everton’s 1-0 defeat at home to Chelsea. Iwobi started and ended the game with Everton. Doucoure fouled Mason Mount and Jorginho converted from the spot kick.
Frank Onyeka, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho will be in action tomorrow.
