Manchester United in a statement released on the club’s website confirmed the departure of six senior players and five others who mostly are academy players. In the statement Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Edison Cavanni, Jesse Lingard, Lee Grant and Nemanja Matic are the senior players confirmed to be leaving this summer.
Manchester United in their statement said:
“With players’ contracts set to expire across all levels at Manchester United, the club has issued its list of retained players ahead of the 2022/23 season.
In terms of the first team, it has already been confirmed that Edinson Cavani, Lee Grant, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba are leaving United.
In the Academy, five players will depart on 30 June, when their contracts are set to expire. As ever, those players will continue their lifelong associations with the Academy.”
