Sadio Mané has been included in Senegal’s 26-man squad for 2022 Qatar.

Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mané has spoken for the first time since his injury setback. The 30-year-old disclosed on his official social media that his surgery was successful and uses the opportunity to thank everyone who sends him a message of support.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank you who have sent me messages of support following my injury. This Monday, our dear country will compete at the World Cup, Qatar 2022. I’m sure the Lions will approach every game as a final. They’ll fight as a team.”

Mane was withdrawn from the Senegal World Cup squad after it was discovered that he will require surgery for his injury. Mane was replaced by Moussa Ndiaye, who has joined the rest of the team in Qatar.

The African Champions will lock horns with the Netherlands today in their first game of the tournament
