Ronaldo’s start from the bench during their knock-out round game against Switzerland, which they had a landslide victory of 6-1. Following this development, Ronaldo has suffered many critics from haters who said his glorious days are getting to an end. This was not welcoming to his sister’s Elma and Keita Aveiro, who hit heavily back at critics.
According to Marca Sport, Goncalo Ramos, the man who took his place, scored three goals. In light of the criticism that the former Manchester United player has been receiving, his sister Elma took to Instagram to stick up for him.
“You stayed on the bench and that was a good thing, letting the other’s play is also part of it,” wrote Elma.
“I just ask for the 1% of losers and hypocrites not to talk s***…they bite the hand that fed them.”
“Support Portugal whoever plays. Portugal is a team, it’s not just Ronaldo…. Respect the team, the coach, and especially Ronaldo. Ronaldo will be eternal, never forgotten for everything he did and WILL do,” said Elma.
Another who came out in defence of the player was his other sister, Katia Aveiro, who expressed support for her brother.
“Portugal won. Thank God. New talents shone. Wonderful (…) And even this does not invalidate the smallness of a large part of the Portuguese,” wrote Katia on social media.
“And that is what is not right because they continue to curse, continue to insist on insults and ingratitude.
