Nigerian and Genk forward Paul Onuachu completes a move from Genk to Southampton on the deadline day of the transfer.  The three and half year deal was a bargain for £18.6m between both clubs.

Paul Onuachu left Genk as the club’s top scorer and the league’s top scorer with 17 goals.

Onuachu will join his Nigerian compatriot Joel Aribo in the team and would ensure they help the club fight relegation.

Southampton manager Nathan Jones said: “Paul is a significant signing for us and completes what has been an extremely positive month in terms of recruitment.

“He’s a handful to play against, has got a tremendous record throughout his career and he’s also someone who brings great experience with him, so he’ll be a really positive addition to the squad.”
