Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed Lionel Messi is among the players to have recently tested positive for Covid-19.

The French giants are due to face Vannes, who play in the country's fourth tier league competition, on Monday in the Coupe de France. PSG are the current holders of the competition having beaten Monaco in last season's final.

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed Lionel Messi is among the players to have recently tested positive for Covid-19.

On Saturday, PSG confirmed four players and one member of staff had tested positive for coronavirus, and later on Sunday they revealed the identities of those first team members.

Their update confirms Messi returned a positive test alongside Juan Bernat, Sergio Rico and Nathan Bitumazala. They are now in isolation and will now miss Monday’s tie as well as the Ligue 1 clash with Lyon next week.

Messi has made a quiet start by his standards to his PSG career, scoring once in 11 league appearances, though he has struck five times in the Champions League. His lack of accuracy in the league hasn’t harmed PSG’s title charge, however, as Mauricio Pochettino’s side boast a 13 point lead at the top of Ligue
