According to ITV Italy, Atalanta has been sold to an American group of investors, to be managed by Stephan Pagliuca who is co-owner of the Boston Celtics.
Percassi remains 45% owner and active CEO and as the press release states, it’s because of the incredible job he did to get Atalanta to where they are today.
“We are coming in to help reinforce the Atalanta brand, diversify and grow revenues allowing the team to be more competitive in Italy & internationally”
Atalanta now becomes the 8th Serie A club to be majority-owned by a North American group.
