“The People’s Elephant” floated at home to MFM who seems to be struggling in the NPFL 2021/22 campaign.
Victor Mbaoma lifted his team scoring an early goal, Chukwudi Ekeocha responded for MFM just 5 minutes after Victor’s goal.
Both teams settled for a 1-1 draw at full time. Enyimba has dropped 7 points at Aba this season and MFM picked their first draw since 2016 at Aba.
Akwa United 3-2 Dakadda.
The Uyo Derby ended in a 5 goals thriller in favor of “The Promise Keepers”. Akwa United has now won two out of two since head coach Kennedy Boboye resigned. Dakadda has won only one of their last four games since returning to Uyo after they had their ban lifted.
Akwa United is level on points with 3rd place Enugu Ranger on 23 points. Meanwhile, Dakadda still suffers from the relegation zone.
Rivers United 1-0 Enugu Rangers.
“The Pride of Rivers” returned to the top of the table with a narrow win against Rangers at Adokiye Amiesimika Stadium, Portharcourt.
Nwangwa Nyima’s only goal and his second of the season seal all three points for rovers.
Rivers returns to the top with 29 points after 14 games.
Shooting 0-0 Wikki Tourist.
“The Giant Elephant” held Shooting to a barren draw at home. Both teams are separated by a point on the NPFL log,
Shooting is on 12 spots with 19 points. Wikki is above the 11th spot with 20 points.
Sunshine Stars 1-0 Kwara United.
Another clean sheet for Mustapha Lawal the Sunshine Stars shot-stopper, he kept 5 clean sheets in 6 games in the entire of January.
Sunshine sees off Kwara I to claim their 4th win of the season. Kwara United despite the loss still maintained the 6th spot with 21 points.
Kano Pillars 2-1 Abia Warriors.
“Sai Masu Gida” picked their first win in the last 5 games against Abia Warriors in Ahmadu Bello Way Stadium, Kaduna.
Saidu Salisu’s 17th and Abdullahi Musa’s 51st-minute goals made the difference in the tie. Kalu Nweke responded in the 16th minute but wasn’t enough to help the vulnerable Warriors.
Pillars move 3 points above the relegation zone and Warriors are 2 points above the relegation zone.
Katsina United 1-1 Heartland.
Katsina United was held to a 1-1 draw at home by Heartland FC of Owerri. Both teams shared the points scoring 25th and 30th minutes respectively.
Both teams sit at the relegation zone with a point separating them.
Lobi Stars 1-0 Remo Stars.
Three losses in a row for Remo who began the season with much resiliency.
Remo has dropped to 4th place, while Lobi Stars moves up to 13th place.
Nasarawa 1-0 Tornadoes.
Iko Allah Boys were smashed at Lafia. Nasarawa is now 3 points away from the top 3 and Tornadoes are just 2 points above relegation.
Gombe 1-1 Plateau. Plateau couldn’t retain their early lead of 23 minutes to full time. Plateau, who have won their last six games, was held at Gombe to a 1-1 draw.
“The Tin City Side” missed an opportunity to retain the top of the log. They stay behind Rivers United with a point separating both sides.
Gombe moved to the 9th spot with 20 points acquired.
Sunshine 2-1 Wikki Tourist.
Sunshine Stars and Wikki played their outstanding game to make up 14 by both teams.
Leonard Ugochukwu’s brace for Sunshine put them higher against their opponent in the tie. Sunshine, level on points with Wikki.
Sunshine moved to 8th place and Wikki 11th spot with the same 20 points.
