Despite Kennedy Boboye tactics and making 5 substitutions against Sunshine of Akure, nothing seems to work for “the Promise Keepers” Deji Ayeni surely will be proud of his boys after points picked away from home.
Wikki Tourist 2-1 Plateau United.
The Bauchi-based club began the game with a horrendous own goal in the 23rd minutes into the game. Wikki react positively after Salisu’s Adamu own goal. They scored twice in the tie, scoring 24th and 64th minutes respectively. The game produced the most goals across all 6 games. Wikki who have now leveled on points of 12 with their opponents Plateau sits confidently in 6th position just behind Plateau United with a game at hand.
Lobi Stars 1-0 Enyimba.
Lobi Stars and Enyimba played their 7th game of the season on Monday. The Benue based club edged Enyimba by a 1-0 scoreline. Onuwa Chukwuka earned Lobi Stars the winning by his lone goal.
Kano Pillar 1-0 MFM
“Sai Masu Gida” had begun their 2021/22 NPFL campaign poorly. They have had a rollercoaster season so far with a glimmer of struggling in the team. They edged MFM to a 1-0 win at Kaduna Township stadium, a result which has now dumped MFM to 20th on the log.
Maigoro Yusuf scored Kano Pillars’s only goal in the 43rd minute of the encounter. Kano pillars move to the 12th spot with 10 points.
Nasarawa United 1-0 Katsina United.
Nasarawa United almost drew the game against Katsina United at the Keffi Township Stadium. Thanks to Mohammed Shammasu’s strikes in the added minutes of the game. Nasarawa who have now played 8 games, won 3, drew 3, and lost 2 are on 12 points and 7th spots on the table. Katsina United was relegated to 18th position with 7 points in 8 games.
Gombe 1-0 Niger Tornadoes
Despite a spot kick missed by Ahmed Jomoh, Gombe retained the only goal scored at the 11th minute of the game by Abdulazeez Yusuff. The game ended in favor of the host. They have now skyrocketed to 13th place with 9 points, and Niger Tornadoes dropped to the 16th spot.
Rivers United 3-1 Heartland
Rivers pulverized the striving Heartland to move to the top of the log. They are currently on an unbeaten streak, as well as Remo Star. “The Pride of Rivers” have secured a maximum point of 18 after 8 games. Isahq Kayode registered his name in the score sheet for Rivers yet again. Both teams are now leveled on points of 18 with Rivers on the 1st spot ahead of Remo with goals advantage. Enugu Rangers sits just behind Remo Stars with 15 points secured after 8 games.
Enyimba 1-0 Akwa United
Enyimba returned to action just after three days when they lost to Lobi Stars of Benue state. Tosin Omoleye’s only goal at the 26th minute sealed all three points for “The people’s Elephant” against the defending champions Akwa United. The Kennedy Boboye’s Boys have not to be resilient to what they were last season. They have secured 11 points in 8 games. And the win for “The People’s Elephant” has skyrocketed them to 4th place with a narrow win over ” The Promise Keepers”
Shooting Stars 2-1 Kwara United
Shooting Stars of Ibadan surely have made themselves and the fans proud after a late-minute strike to seal all three points at home. The Ibadan-based club had lost their manager last week and a win would be a proper way to commemorate Rasheed Balogun.
Also, Danbani had set the Kwarans ahead just 61 minutes into the second half of the game. Shooting responded scoring twice at 78th minutes by Ayo Adejubu and at an added time by striker Ebenezer Adeyemi. Kwara United moved out from the relegation zone to 15 places.
Both Wikki Tourist and Sunshine Stars of Akure have a game at hand. They will play each other to make up their 8th game of the season.
