Round 24 of the NPFL featured on weekdays Wednesday and Thursday. Five games were featured on Wednesday and Thursday respectively. On Wednesday it was, Four wins which were all home wins and one draw, seventeen goals were scored with no clean sheet recorded.
Round 24 continued on Thursday with five matches featured, four teams won at home with one away win. A total of 15 goals were scored, with 4 clean sheets.

Kano Pillars dropped to the relegation zone for the first time this season after suffering a tremendous defeat at Aba.

MFM were the only team to suffer a home defeat in this round, the Bauchi-based club took advantage of MFM being vulnerable to score twice.

Akwa United ran riot on Nasarawa United in a 7 goals thriller Match in Uyo.

Rivers United and Plateau United both suffered a defeat away from home but remained on top of the log.
Katsina 3-1 Shooting Star.
Madaki Alkali’s brace, Musa Aliyu’s extra minute strike gave Katsina a superb victory in Katsina over their visitor’s Shooting. Elum Shocima leveled at 53rd minutes for 3SC, but his goal couldn’t salvage a point for Shooting before full time.
Katsina United, despite the win, remains in the relegation zone while Shooting drops to 11th place.
Kwara United 1-1 Abia.
Warriors who were held to a 1-1 draw in their last game by Tornadoes produced a replica of such a scoreline at Ilorin. They held Kwara to a 1-1 draw at full time. Odoh Valentine leveled the game 55th minute into the second half for the Warriors to neutralize Samuel Tiza’s goal.
Kwara retains 5th place with 37 points and Warriors decline to 14th position.
Lobi Stars 2-1 Gombe United.
Lobi picked their second win in their last 10 encounter against Gombe in Markudi. Lobi scored 42nd and 62th minutes in the encounter as they took the lead. Gombe midfielder Al Ameen Al Ameen scored in the 72nd minute to reduce the goal deficit to 2-1.

Niger Tornadoes 2-1 Enugu Rangers.
The Ikon Allah Boys have now picked up four points in their last two games, picking a point previously at Abia. NNL defending champions defeated The Flying Antelopes in the Ahmadu Bello way Stadium, Kaduna.
They have now moved to the 12th position while Rangers stay behind Remo Star with 38 points acquired.
Remo Star 4-1 Dakadda.
Five goals thriller match at Remo Star Stadium, Ikenne in Ibadan was featured with Remo scoring four of those goals. Remo Star defender Tolulope Oto opened the scoring campaign for the Sky Blue 33rd minute of the game. Dan Etido equalized for Dakadda before halftime. Four minutes into the second half, Remo began to score, and ensured they scored three in the second half that helped them breeze past Dakadda.
Remo Star occupies the CAF confederation spot, with Dakadda dropping to 15 places with 3 points above relegation.
Akwa United 6-1 Nasarawa United.
Nasarawa faced the biggest defeat of the season at Uyo when they visited The Promise Keepers. Deji Ayeni is keeping the promise already for Akwa United, as he’s yet to lose since taking control. Ubong Friday opened the scoring chart, Wisdom Fernandon’s brace, Adam Yakubu, Babatunde Martins, and Franklin Matib all registered their name in the scoring chart for Akwa United.
Despite the transcendent victory over Nasarawa, Akwa remains in the 7th spot while Nasarawa falls to 13th place.
Enyimba 4-0 Kano Pillars.
Enyimba’s massive win this season came against Kano Pillars in Aba. Victor Mbaoma had another brace rolling his tally this season to 10 goals he has now scored the same number of goals as Abdulazeez Yusuff of Gombe and two goals adrift Isahq Kayode of Rivers United. Emeka Obioma subbed in the 66th minute and also registered a goal and Emmanuel made it 4-0 at the last minute.
The Peoples Elephant moves a place ahead on the log, dumping Sai Masu Gida to 19th place on the log.
Heartland 1-0 Plateau United.
Relegation-threatened Heartland pulled a surprise victory over the second-place club Plateau United. Heartland forward Nwaodu Chukwudi’s only goal in the 16th minute separates both sides. Fortunately for Plateau United, their rival Rivers United, we’re also thrashed.
Fidelis Ilechukwu’s boys retain the second position with the same 4 points below Rivers United.
MFM 0-2 Wikki Tourist.
The only away win of this round occurred at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos. MFM were pummeled by Wikki Tourist to a 0-2 defeat. Abubakar Aliyu and Salomon Chigoziem’s goals helped the Bauchi base club to victory in Lagos.
Wikki sits below Enyimba in 9th place, while MFM resides at the bottom of the table.
Sunshine Stars 1-0 Rivers United.
Sunshine Stars dent Rivers hope to go clear on the log with points margins. Leonard Ugochukwu’s 4th-minute strike helped Sunshine breeze past the league leaders.
Despite the defeat, Rivers remains four points clear on top of the log and surely Stanley Eguma will restrategize to return to winning ways when they take on Niger Tornadoes in Rivers.
