Manchester United last night defeated Aston Villa at Old Trafford to book themselves for a fourth-round place in the Carabao Cup. Manchester United duo Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Martial who missed United’s last game scored as well as Rashford and MC Tominay scored to give United a 4-2 triumph at full time. Villa tried returning to the encounter, getting two goals from Ollie Watkin’s and Diogo Dalot’s own goals.
Marcus Rashford has delivered his verdict following Manchester United’s enthralling 4-2 win against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.
The England international, who has just been named in Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad, put on an electric performance against the Midlanders.
Rashford scored the Reds’ second equalizer, after Anthony Martial pulled it back to 1-1 early in the second half.
After enjoying an impressive start to the season, Rashford says his focus right now is to enjoy his football.
“My aim is just to get back to enjoying my football, and, at the minute, I am,” he told Sky Sports at full-time.
“I can’t complain!”
The game was a tale of two halves, with the second period really coming to life with six goals flying in.
“[It was] definitely an entertaining second half [with] lots of chances,” he added to club media.
“I think we defended a little better, and we were better in possession as well, so, therefore, we created more chances.
“It’s always good to score goals at Old Trafford and four goals tonight – two goals from losing positions – we can’t complain.”
