Bayern Munich suffered yet another defeat under new manager Thomas Tuchel. Bayern were beaten 3-1 away at the Mewa Arena by Mainz to deny the Bundesliga defending champions an opportunity to move 5 points ahead of Dortmund. Dortmund, with a win tomorrow, will go one point ahead of Bayern.
Sadio Mané had his first goal ruled out by VAR in the 16th minute, 13 minutes later, the Senegalese scored his first goal since October to give Bayern the first half of the lead. Mainz returned in the Second half with three goals to end the game at 3-1, handing over Bayern another defeat.
Mainz moves to sixth place with 45 points after the emphatic win, while Bayern with 59 points could drop to second place should close rival Dortmund picks a win in this round.
