Liverpool reached an agreement to sign Cody Gakpo from PSV.

English outfit Liverpool has beaten competitors to the signature of Cody Gakpo from PSV. The 23-year cost Liverpool £50m with add-ons and will join Liverpool during the January transfer. Liverpool’s decision to add the Dutch player due to injury ransacking the club.

“The 23-year-old attacker will immediately leave for England, where he will undergo the necessary formalities to complete the transfer. Both clubs are not making any announcements about the transfer fee. ‘But this is a record transfer for PSV,’ said general manager Marcel Brands.

“The PSV management completed the transfer on Boxing Day and gave Gakpo permission to travel to England.”

Gakpo was part of the Dutch side that played in the just-concluded World Cup in Qatar, where he scored in every of the Netherlands’ first three games before they were eliminated by the Champions Argentina in the quarter-finals.

The 23-year-old this season has netted 13 goals and made 17 assists this season.
