Los Blanco’s striker Karim Benzema has hung their boots in his international career, he disclosed. Benzema disclosed this on his 35th birthday after a feud that erupted about his return to the French national team in Qatar. Benzema made Didier Deschamps’s World Cup squad but unfortunately didn’t play in any game due to the injury he sustained.

Benzema, 35, recovered before the final but first to return to the team despite France’s President Emmanuel Macron’s request.

France lost the World Cup to Argentina yesterday and denied their third in history.

On his Facebook page, he said:

“I made the effort and mistakes it took to be where I am today, and I am proud of it.

I wrote my story and ours ends.”

Benzema made 97 caps and scored 37 goals for the Blues.
