Joe Biden, Cafu and others mourn the demise of great Pele at 82.

Joe Biden has joined the rest of the World’s top celebrities to mourn the death of one of the greatest of all time, Pele. Pele died last night on his sick bed, where he has been admitted for over a month. He spent the Christmas period at the hospital and passed away after battling cancer for a while. Ex footballers, Football clubs, players, and football clubs most have shared their regret about his demise.

 

Joe Biden message on his twitter:

“For a sport that brings the world together like no other, Pelé’s rise from humble beginnings to soccer legend is a story of what is possible.

Today, Jill and I’s thoughts are with his family and all those who loved him.”

 

Legendary Cafu on his official twitter page said:

“Pelé will never die… Pelé is eternal, Pelé is the king, Pelé is unique… he will be immortalized in every magnificent goal, in every moment of genius, but mainly in each one of us who were inspired by him and his generation. Rest in peace, my brother.”

 

Most football clubs around Europe, ex players and footballers have shown their thoughts with Pele’s family despite not playing in Europe.

 

Pele is the only football player to have won three World Cup, winning his first at age 17 and scoring 4 goals in the final against host nation Sweden.

 

Pele made 92 appearances, scoring 77 goals for Brazil. At club level, he played his best career with Santos FC in Brazil and New York Cosmos. He made over 600 appearances with Santos, scoring +600 goals.
