Unai Emery led the team to a poor position they have never reached in many years when Wenger was in charge in EPL. At the end of the season, Arsenal missed a top4 chance.
Unai guided the team to the Europa League final against London’s rival Chelsea, which he lost disgracefully by 4-1. An opportunity that would have returned Arsenal to Champions League football.

Villarreal appointed Unai Emery in 2020 to succeed Javier Calleja. Unai has been able to assemble a rocky team since he arrived at the Yellow Submarine. His formidable team includes players mostly from Tottenham in England who are rejected stones, players such as Lo Celso, Juan Foyth, Serge Aurier, and Étienne Capoue, although Capoue moved in from Watford after Tottenham.
In his first season, he finished in the Europa League spot in the La Liga. And led Yellow Submarine to the Europa League final against Manchester United where they triumph against Manchester United on penalties.
His encomium was sung among players and managers as someone who has rebranded his CV.
Emery’s good stint at Villarreal became historical when the Spaniard knocked Bayern Munich out of the Champions League to proceed to the semi-final.
Unai Emery defeated Bayern in Spain by a lone goal and fought tirelessly at Allianz Arena to end the game by 1-1. Chukweze scored for Villarreal in the 88th minute to neutralize Robert Lewandowski’s goal.
Villarreal secured their second semis in their history since the 2005/2006 season when they were dumped out by Arsenal. He will be the first manager in Villarreal history to reach the final of the Champions League, should they be able to defeat Liverpool on aggregate.
