FIFA BEST AWARDS: FIFA shortlists candidates for best awards.

FIFA has revealed candidates for best awards for 2022. Players from the English Premier League, La Liga, French Ligue 1, and Bundesliga made the shortlist of the best player award.

The list of awards shortlisted for are:

Best FIFA Women’s Player
Best FIFA Player
Best FIFA Women’s Coach
Best FIFA Coach
Best FIFA Goalkeeper
Best FIFA Goalkeeper
FIFA FIFPRO Women’s World 11
FIFA FIFPRO World 11 Men
FIFA Fair Play Award
FIFA Puskás Award (Best Goal of the Year)
FIFA Fans’ Choice Award.

According to Marca Sports, the voting period for the February 27 ceremony begins today, Thursday, January 12. The votes are divided into four parts: 25 percent from journalists; 25 percent from captains of the World Cup teams; 25 percent from coaches; and the remaining 25 percent from the fans.

Beyond the Best Player award, the winners of a total of 11 categories will be known on 27 February:

 

The Best FIFA Women’s Player of the Year Award
The nominees for the FIFA Women’s Player of the Year 2022 are:

Aitana Bonmati (Barcelona), Debinha (North Carolina Courage), Jessie Fleming (Chelsea), Ada Hegerberg (Olympique Lyon), Sam Kerr (Chelsea), Beth Mead (Arsenal), Vivianne Miedema (Arsenal), Alex Morgan (San Diego Wave), Lena Oberdorf (Wolfsburg), Alexandra Popp (Wolfsburg), Alexia Putellas (Barcelona), Wendie Renard (Olympique Lyon), Keira Walsh (Barcelona) and Leah Williamson (Arsenal).

The Best Men’s Football Coach Award
The nominees for Best Coach of 2022 are:

Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid), Didier Deschamps (France), Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Walid Regragui (Morocco), and Lionel Scaloni (Argentina).

The Best Women’s Football Coach Award
The nominees for Best Women’s Football Coach of 2022 are Sonia Bompastor (Olympique Lyon), Emma Hayes (Chelsea), Bev Priestman (Canada), Pia Sundhage (Brazil), Martina Voss-Tecklenburg (Germany) and Sarina Wiegman (England).

The Best Goalkeeper Award
The nominees for Best Goalkeeper 2022 are:

Alisson Becker (Liverpool), Yassine Bounou (Sevilla), Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid), Ederson (Manchester City), and Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa).

The Best Female Goalkeeper Awards
The nominees for Best Goalkeeper 2022 are:

Christine Endler (Olympique Lyon), Ann-Katrin Berger (Chelsea), Mary Earps (Manchester United), Merle Frohms (Wolfsburg), Alyssa Naeher (Chicago Red Stars), and Sandra Panos (Barcelona).

FIFA Fan of the Year Award:
Abdullah Al Salmi (Saudi Arabia): Abdullah walked across the desert from his native Jeddah to Qatar to cheer on his national team at the FIFA World Cup.
