FC Sevan forward Bernard Ovoke returns to Rivers United, coming after his club’s unresolved crises with the AFF President.

League leaders Rivers United have secured the services of former NPFL forward Bernard Ovoke from FC Sevan. With the current top form of Akunneto Chijioke and Isahq Kayode, Rivers United may have just made a step of staying glued onto the top spot with the acquisition of Bernard Ovoke.

Bernard Ovoke made a transfer move from Plateau United to FC Sevan, Armenia in October 2021. Before a move to Armenia Ovoke Bernard had played in Plateau United where he stayed three seasons, Rivers United three seasons, and a season at Bayelsa United.

Bernard Ovoke disclosed to one of our correspondents in Sportjuice9ja via a phone call that his club pulled out from the Armenia Premier League following an unresolved dispute with the AFF President Armen Melikbekyan who the club have accused of being master of manipulation and accuses others of it.

Bernard Ovoke has made a couple of appearances with FC Sevan before his club pulled off from the league. The league was reduced to 10 teams following Sevan exit, Ararat Armenia tops the league with 54 points.

Another Nigerian, Yusuf Otubanjo is having a scintillating stint with league leaders, the Nigerian striker has netted 10 times in his 14 appearances since joining Ararat Armenia from LASK in Austria.

On November 14, Bernard Ovoke made a worrying post on his Facebook timeline depicting that there was a problem ravaging the unity and peace in his team.

Despite these hard times, we are facing here at fc sevan. I believe we would come out of this stronger as a team, more focused and dedicated…we hope for a great performance against Alaskert. TOGETHER WE SHALL COME OUT AS A TEAM.
