The Super Falcons suffered another defeat in the ongoing African Women’s Nation Cup last night. They were defeated by Copper Queens of Zambia through a horrible own goal made by goalkeeper Chiamaka during the first half of the game.
The Super Falcons made their second-worst campaign in the tournament since 2012 when they finished fourth.
Coach Kadiri Ikhana who was responsible for the squad then was fired for his poor stint.
Many football fans have called for the sack of Coach Waldrum for his poor campaign in this year’s tournament.
The Falcons thanked Nigerians for their support despite the horrendous outcome.
Many Nigerians blamed this low performance on the government, insisting if their match allowances had been paid as when due, these girls would have been focused on a positive outcome. Before the game, as per multiple sources, the girls almost did not attend training due to unpaid allowances and bonuses.
