ASFAR FC of Morocco has been crowned Champions of the Women’s CAF Champions League after their enormous victory over South Africa counterpart Mamelodi Sundown. The defending champions Mamelodi Sundown were defeated by ASFAR in Morocco by 4-0 in the final. AS FAR are the second team to win the CAF WCL after Mamelodi Sundown Ladies who did so in 2021.
Bayelsa Queens came far in the tournament and were eliminated in the semi-final after losing to ASFAR.
The Women’s CAF Champions League which began last year was won by the South African outfit Mamelodi Sundown last year.
According to CAF, the winners of this competition will walk away with 400,000 USD, the runner-up 250,000 USD, and the semi-finalists 200,000 USD each.
In addition, the third-placed group winners will receive USD 150,000, while the fourth-placed team will receive a participation bonus of USD 100,000.
Moroccan clubs have dominated the Africa CAF tournament this season as all winners of each tier of been from Morocco.
