Junior Ajayi joined Al ahly in 2016 for a fee around €2.5M from the Tunisian giant CS SFaxien. He has went on to make 189 appearances scoring 51 goals with 37 assists to his name.

Amir Tawfik, head of the club’s marketing and transfers departments, announced the termination of Junior Ajayi’s contract by mutual consent on Thursday.
Tawfik added that after consulting Mahmoud El Khatib, Al Ahly’s president, the club parted ways with Ajayi, the Nigerian forward.
He was selected by Nigeria for their 18-man squad for the 2016 Summer Olympics, after helping them qualifying to Rio with his decisive goals. With Nigeria, he won the Olympic bronze medal.
