Rivers United 2-0 Plateau
A rivalry game of the season took place yesterday at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt. Rivers extend their lead on the log with a victory over the Fidelis Ilechukwu boys. Chijioke scored twice from the penalty spot, marking his 14th goal of the season. The Pride of Rivers will be champions with four more wins.
Enugu Rangers 2-1 Wikki Tourists
Rangers with a win are now sitting at the CAF Confederation with three points above Remo Star who had a 1-1 draw against 3SC in Ibadan. Rangers forward Nnaji scored a brace in the encounter to help his side seal a convincing win over Wikki who are in 10th place on the log.
Enyimba 2-0 Sunshine
The Peoples Elephant pushed to a 5th spot following their transcendent victory at their turf yesterday. Finidi George and his boys have not had the best of form this season but will hope to make a CAF spot and the end of the season. Sunshine is dumped to 9th position on the log with a defeat at Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.
Shooting 1-1 Remo
3SC are closing to relegation with just three points above Lobi Stars who are in 17th place. They were held at home yesterday to a 1-1 draw by Ogun-based club Remo Stars. The aftermath of the game was ugly with fans attacking a renowned sports Journalist Tobi Samuel, popularly known as Oga Nla Media. Remo one point means they are three points below Rangers in the top three.
Akwa United 0-0 MFM
Defender champions were held to a barren draw by a relegated threatened MFM in Uyo. Deji Ayeni has not won any of his last games and this has demoted the club to 7th place. MFM are likely to be the confirmed team to relegate having the lowest point.
